New boil-water advisory for part of Battle Creek

A part of the Battle Creek city water system has been shut down for repairs, and customers in the affected area are advised to boil the water before using it for human consumption. That includes drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation.

New slice of business for GT Pie Co.

Growing a restaurant chain in the throes of a recession hasn’t been as easy as pie for Mike and Denise Busley. The Grand Traverse Pie Co. owners will open a new store in downtown Traverse City on Thursday at 101 North Park Street. It will be the 19th location for the bakery cafe chain that opened its first store in 1996 in Traverse City.
